Though some would debate that title.
Anyway, wouldn't you know that in less than 24 hours, my previous posting has been rendered inaccurate. Thankfully. Nothing like having 7 pod/netcasts downloading all at once (well 3 at once and 4 awaiting their completion). Thanks to Global Hermit aka Sean, for dropping me a quick comment, to buoy my spirits and explain the situation a little bit to a novice. Helped me stay cool, Sean. Thanks. Although it is curious that within 2 hours of receiving your comment, I had no problems. Whoever's legs you needed to break, thanks. I'm sure someday, you will ask me to do you a favour. Perhaps that day will never come. But if it should, I will be ready.
So we're back in business. And seeing as how tonight is Game 5 of the 2006 World Series (and if the Cardinals win, the final game of the 2006 World Series), I must return to the TV. Tomorrow, a rainy Saturday on call, and in the evening, a little bit of dressup for a Hallowe'en party (pics to follow...I think). More on that later.
Frustration. This is the only way to describe my week so far. Not only did I not get to watch baseball last evening (lousy stinkin' rain), but I have spent the past 6 days trying to figure out why my computer network (ie: my own, as well as Jenn's computer) have decided to not allow me to view the following 2 sites.
http://twit.tv
http://leo.am
The former is the homepage for Leo Laporte's TWiT netcast network. The latter is Leo's feed page for all the TWiT podcasts (amongst other Leo info). Here is the problem: I enjoy listening to the various podcasts (approximately 7 in total) while I drive to and from work (sometimes 45 minutes one way), as well as during the day (as my occupation involves driving around to setup oxygen equipment, this is a lot of time to listen to podcasts). However, because the feeds for the TWiTcasts all feed through leo.am, my iTunes will NOT see the updated podcast listings, and as a result, I have not been able to listen in and receive my entertainment this week. Really annoying.
What is worse is that I KNOW that the two websites are up! I checked through the work computer, and there were no problems with viewing them. This to me means either that A) Bell's Sympatico service is blocking me for whatever reason, B) something is not working well with my computer in the coding for these sites, or C) my computer has something that is preventing my contacting the above sites. Really frustrating.
If anyone has some ideas, I'd love to hear them. In the meantime, I sit here, wishing I could see ALL websites, and not just those that Bell has decided that I'm allowed to view (assuming this is the problem).
