How unbelievably geeky have I become? Perhaps more accurately, exactly what geeky levels to I manage to maintain. Jenn and I went to Toronto to see "Wicked" yesterday (Jenn's birthday present. And I have to say, I enjoyed Jenn's birthday present at least as much as she did. Theatre tickets rock!). Of course, our travels didn't exclusively involve seeing the show, but also some shopping. We actually went to IKEA in North York, bought a bunch of gifts for people for Christmas, as well as a few for ourselves, and then took the subway to the Eaton's Centre (which of course is ironic, as Eaton's is no longer in existence in the Eaton's Centre). Now I've wanted to hit the Eaton's Centre for a while now, with only 1 goal in mind: APPLE STORE! Ever since the Apple Store opened in Toronto, I have wanted to see it. While I am not (yet) an Apple guy, I wish to be, and likely will be in the near future. But just the idea of a store that has even a hint of the design of an iPod, or iMac, HAS to be an experience. And I was not disappointed. What a beautiful store! iMacs, MacBooks, Mac Pros, and iPods as far as the eye can see. But honestly, what really got me was that they had the Numark iPod mixer there, and I GOT TO PLAY WITH IT! Ugh. Never wanted to be a pro DJ more in my life than at that moment. A lot of fun. I also got to check out the Mac Pro, which is just a monster, but amazing. If I had me some more cash on hand, even though it's more designed for power users (of which I would say I'm not one...yet), the sheer power makes you wish you could have it. Even if you don't care for Apple products, and never plan to have anything more than your old PC, you should check out an Apple Store, because it's so much beyond a "computer store", that I can't even quite explain it in words. Not often are expectations met anymore, I find. It was enjoyable and fun to have them met yesterday. Only problem now is that I want my Core 2 Duo 20" iMac NOW, and not in the new year. Sigh.
