Once again, I have reentered the world of blogs (OK I didn't ever leave, as I do have my other blog on that OTHER blog creation site. But VOX is the place to be for the geeks).
Any friends of mine are probably thinking "Doc what in tarnation are you going to do with 2 blogs instead of just one?" Well, I've been thinking about this long and hard (as well as asking diligently for Vox to send me an invite. Thank you Mena Trott et al for coming through), and frankly, I still have no focused answer. I've been assessing my life, what interests me, what I am passionate and enthusiastic about, and what would make for good conversations in everyday life. And so far I've only found one niche that I have in this world:
I am a vessel of useless knowledge
This is not news to me (or my friends and associates for that matter). After all I have tried out for Jeopardy on 1 occasion (didn't make it, but did pretty well for a first time). I have managed to get into an argument with a Reach For The Top moderator over an answer I gave when I was 14 years old. And I certainly have bored people to tears when I start naming obscure movies that Steve Buscemi has appeared in (hint: ConAir is NOT one of them), even though the discussion started out as being about "Conan the Destroyer" and how scary Grace Jones is. In short: I like a whole lot of things. So why focus (for now). I figure that rather than sit down and pigeonhole myself into a specific topic or mold, I will allow my boundaries to be pushed and blog about a vast array of topics. This way I keep myself sharp on many topics and get to spout my personal feelings about these events in the world.
And your role, as reader, is to keep me in check. If I'm wrong about something, tell me. I'm not asking for trolls, or people who simply "stir it up" for kicks, but honest intelligent criticism of what I may feel. Convince me that my thought it wrong. Reinforce my opinion if you believe I'm right. Give me an alternative opinion, and therefore a whole other angle. Anything goes (minus the previous trolling I mentioned).
This site is mine, but I share it with all of you. Welcome to the world of Doc. Keep your hands inside the car at all time.
